my approach to capturing weddings:

Hi! I’m Katie Pritchard. My Approach to weddings involves carefully blending beautiful, romantic images with a candid and journalistic eye. Both elements are key in my storytelling process. With over 13 years experience as a Los Angeles wedding photographer and a fine art degree to back it up, my combined skills help me understand important imagery on a deeper level. While I do work in a relaxed style, I understand that most people don’t know what to do in front of a camera. My job is to help bring out genuine and real moments between two people.

I’m also someone who appreciates all the details that go into a wedding. From weddings with thoughtful ideas and beautiful floral installations – to intimate elopements with only 10 guests at City Hall – all of it matters to me as I’m sure it does to you. To perfectly capture the essence of a wedding, it’s the little moments + details that matter!

What’s Included?

Before each wedding, I collect info from my couples to gauge where their interests lie for their wedding day. This helps me view the day through your eyes while also brining my own expertise to create a meaningful collaboration.

A wedding planner has the master schedule for the day, but I create a smaller, more compact timeline that highlights all the objectives and important beats. This timeline is created after our pre-wedding consultation and a copy is sent to you (and the planner) so everyone is on the same page.

Every wedding includes a private online gallery of hi-res images. This is where you’ll receive sneak peeks, download the images and share the link with family and friends. You’ll also have printing rights, so that if any lab you order from needs proof – you have permission to print in whatever way you want.

Along with the private gallery comes the option to order high quality lab prints and albums. These are great for gifts, frames, and other goodies to memorialize the day by.

After your wedding, I deliver around 20 sneak peeks. These are sent typically on the Monday or Tuesday following your wedding (assuming it was on Fri-Sun).

If you are a film lover, I also offer 35mm and medium format film packages to add alongside my digital shooting. Please inquire for more details!

This question is so common and I totally understand why! Standing in front of a camera can be scary. But my job is to make you feel comfortable and make things light. People come away from my sessions and always say “that was fun!” because that’s how it should be.

Yes! Please email me if your venue requires a COI and I will be happy to supply one.

-For weddings, and a typical 8 hour package you can expect to get 600-800 images.

-Weddings take 6-8 weeks to be delivered. I try my best to keep that number down because I know from experience waiting for weddings photos is highly anticipated! But I touch all my photos so the wait is worth it, promise!

Backup gear, and back ups of backup!

My simple answer is no and let me share why. While I do thrive on schedules and family lists, I don’t like photo shot lists or Pinterest boards. You don’t want a cookie cutter wedding. You don’t want someone else’s poses, some other bride’s idea – you want your own. And you’ve hired me because you like my style & vision. If you let me tell the story of your wedding through my lens, it will be all yours – your unique wedding.

Yes! Although I am a Los Angeles photographer, I do travel. Fill out the inquiry form to get a custom travel proposal.

2. Video/Phone Call

A great way to learn about you both, and what your ideal wedding day looks like.

3. Secure Date & Booking

After our call, I’ll send over a proposal with the package(s) we discussed. You’ll be able to choose, sign and pay a deposit all in one simple system.

4. Timeline Crafting, Planning

We’ll touch base about a month before the wedding to combine efforts with your planner and create the perfect photo timeline.

5. Wedding Day

We vibe! Magic happens! I’ll be there to guide and celebrate you all day 🙂

6. Delivery

Your photos will be professionally edited by me, and uploaded to a private, online gallery in 6-8 weeks.
