How to Postpone/Plan during a Pandemic

What a year it’s been, right? If you would have told me the majority of the year would have disappeared, I would have laughed! While I’m still slightly mourning the postponement of so.many.weddings this year, I don’t want it to stop me from being as helpful as I can be…I am an enneagram 2 after all! And since we’re all going to be inside for a while, we all have plenty of time of read – ha!

Planning a wedding or postponing one during a global pandemic probably feels a lot like a nightmare that you can’t wake up from. But I’m here to tell you IT’S POSSIBLE, and everything is going to be ok! Activities and bookings and plans will look a lot different to you right now, but since I’m annoyingly optimistic, I want you to know – you can do this. Both of you can. So if you’re wondering where to start, here’s some articles and resources!

I created a deep-dive list into wedding planning + postponement for COVID-19 times, which you can find right here, but for now we’re going to break it down a little more:

If you just found out that you need to postpone your wedding, look no further than this 10 step guide that wedding planner Gabriela Pilar Events put together, which will make you feel a whole lot better once you read it through!

If you are getting married later this year and are still in the thick of planning, not to worry! Many wedding companies have gone online to help you!

Looking for your wedding dress still? You can do virtual dress shopping appointments with many designers and wedding dress shops! Just take a look at this article on Green Wedding Shoes.

You can also virtually tour weddings venues! 24 Carrots is doing virtual tours of all their venues. If doing a virtual tour isn’t enough for you, ask for a Zoom meeting with a team member from a venue to see if they can answer any concerns you have.

The resource list I have available on Google Excel has a tonNnNn more information, so be sure to click on that link to see everything! Other topics include: how to support your wedding vendors during this time, tips on working from home, and things to listen to/watch together.

Stay safe! xo, Katie
